- Reduced Labour time
- Reduced exhaustion for mum after the birth
- A much calmer, more enjoyable birth experience
- A safer, more effective method of aiding delivery
- A happier, less stressed baby
- Require significantly less analgesic drugs (if any!)
Some mums also report reduced morning sickness, back pain, insomnia, headaches and feeling less overwhelmed by the thought of life after the birth when at home with your new baby.
During a lifetime, we are bombarded with images and horror stories of difficult pregnancies and painful labours. Is it any wonder that when we go into labour, our first response is to panic even though this is the most natural thing a woman can experience?
The problem with panicking is that your mind is telling your body that something is wrong. Then your body goes into panic mode and tells the muscles inside you to clamp down until it feels the danger is over. Unfortunately by this point the hormones inducing labour have been released and so one part of your body is forcing the baby out while another is holding the muscles closed. This causes pain.
If however, you use hypnotherapy leading up to your labour, you can rid your unconscious mind of all the years of conditioning it has had so that you do not automatically go into panic mode when you begin your birthing experience. Hypnosis can help during labour to help you remain calm and minimise your discomfort with minimal, if any, drug intervention.
